Beneficiary of HORIZON and Sustainable Blue Economy Pertnership grant: ReSEAlience

We are thrilled to announce that Haloderma has officially partnered in another groundbreaking European research initiative: ReSEAlience.

While our previously announced project, HALO-TEX, is rooted in coastal agriculture, ReSEAlience dives deep into the “Blue Bioeconomy.” Together with a strong international network of researchers and industry partners, we are working to unlock the immense potential hidden within our oceans and coastlines in a 100% sustainable way.

The Super-Plants of the Sea and Coast Seaweed and salt-tolerant coastal plants (halophytes) are true survivors. Thriving in harsh saltwater environments, they naturally produce a powerful, unique shield of protective compounds, antioxidants, and beneficial fatty acids to survive.

The entire ReSEAlience project is built on a strict “zero-waste” philosophy. Through pioneering green technology, we ensure that nothing goes to waste as the biomass is transformed into everything from sustainable aquaculture feed and green energy to premium skincare.

Haloderma’s Role: The Future of “Blue Beauty” Skincare Within the project, Haloderma is responsible for leading the development and validation of cosmetic applications. Our mission is to transform these pure marine extracts and oils into safe, highly effective, science-backed skincare.

In our laboratories, we are actively working to:

  • Fight Free Radicals: We analyze the marine extracts for their natural antioxidant content, which protects the skin from environmental stress and premature aging.

  • Even Out Skin Tone: We investigate the plants’ ability to inhibit the enzymes (tyrosinase) responsible for dark spots and hyperpigmentation, promoting an even and radiant glow.

  • Strengthen the Skin Barrier: We evaluate the rich fatty acid profiles of the marine oils, which are crucial for locking in intense moisture and maintaining skin elasticity.

The ultimate goal is to develop and scientifically validate brand-new formulations for luxurious products, such as innovative facial serums and creams, bringing the healing properties of the ocean directly into your daily skincare routine.

We can’t wait to take you along on this maritime journey. Stay tuned to Our Journal for the latest updates straight from the lab!
